Whether this is your final straw at making your marriage work, trying to rekindle the flame of passion or looking to grow deeper with one another, this is the retreat for you. This is the retreat to connect or reconnect more intimately with your spouse, understand God’s desire for marriage, discover your purpose as a couple and experience a weekend of fun and laughter. The married couples will participate in a life-changing vow renewal service. They will have an opportunity to rededicate themselves to the Lord and to themselves.

*This session will help the couples discover their marriage identity. Both the husband and wife will examine how they see themselves, and ultimately their marriage. This will be an interactive session.

*This session is will encourage those couples who feel disconnected in their marriage due to a traumatic experience like the death of a child, adultery, moving due to work, and so much more. The couples will be given insight on how to reconnect and stay connected.

Session (Being Equally Yoked)

*This session allows the couples to be examine their spiritual growth, and it will encourage them to learn and mature together in the Lord. This will be a teaching session, and it will be followed up with a question and answer session.

*This session will focus on sex and communication in marriage. It will challenge the couples to dive deeper and discover ways to communicate more effectively with one another. This will be a teaching session, and it will be followed up with a question and answer session.

*All couples are encouraged to enjoy a special date night alone where they can reconnect, enjoy each other’s company, and relax. This can include, but isn’t limited to, candlelight dinner outside, dinner at a restaurant, touring Scottsdale, walk around the resort, intimate night in the room with room service, etc.

*This will be a fun and interactive discussion and session with all of the couples at the retreat. Several couples will participate in role-play where the husbands and wives will switch roles. Ultimately, we will show the couples that they are not alone in the things they go through. This will be mostly interactive, but it will have some teaching components.

Q: What if I live close to the resort? Am I still required to stay?

A: We will lift the requirement for those who live close to the resort. However, the couple is responsible for paying the full retreat registration cost, which is $250.00 per couple Those staying at the hotel receive a reduced cost of $125.00 per couple.

Q: Can I attend the retreat if I am not a member at The Gathering Oasis Church?

A: Yes, you do not have to be a member of the church to attend.

Q: What does the registration cover?

A: Registration covers the vow renewal service, light hors d’oeuvres, and access to a power-packed 4-day retreat

Q: Do I have to stay at the host hotel to attend the retreat?

A: You are required to stay a minimum of two (2) nights at the host hotel to attend the retreat. We desire for all attendees to have the full experience of the event.

Q: How much is parking at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa?

A: Self-parking is complimentary. Valet parking is complimentary until 11pm. Overnight valet parking is $27.00.

Q: What am I supposed to wear during the retreat?

A: We ask that everyone wear resort smart casual to all the sessions and events. Please be appropriate and presentable.

Q: Are children allowed in the sessions?

A: We care deeply about your family; however, we desire to keep the sessions distraction-free. For this reason, children are not allowed in the sessions. Exceptions can be made. Please email us at marriageretreat16@gmail.com for approval.

Q: Is childcare provided?

A: Unfortunately, childcare is not provided at this retreat.

Q: Do I have to be married to attend the retreat?

A: No, the retreat is open to couples who are married, engaged or seriously courting. We ask that all engaged and seriously courting couples reserve separate rooms or room with other couples who are in the same situation. We also ask that all seriously courting and engaged couples remain accountable to another couple during the retreat.

Q: Is my ticket refundable?

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to refund registration tickets.

Q: Can I sponsor a couple(s)?

Q: I cannot come to the entire conference. Am I able to attend the rest of it?

A: We encourage you to make the investment for your marriage by attending the entire retreat. If you cannot attend a day or two, we recommend attending as much of it as possible.

Q: Are same-sex couples allowed to attend this retreat?

A: We firmly believe marriage is a sacred blessing between a man and a woman. Our retreat will focus on that belief.

Q: Do I have to attend all sessions?

A:  In order to get the most out of the weekend, we suggest all sessions be attended.

Q: What is the benefit of this retreat?

A: The getaway allows for you and your spouse to spend quality time together, get away from the distractions of life, create lasting memories, meet other couples who are in the same/similar situations as you and your spouse, listen to gifted speakers that will give you tools to help strengthen your marriage and help you to realize that you are not alone.

Q: Is food included in my registration fee?

A: The resort is fully equipped with several restaurants, a fantastic room service menu, wonderful brunch options and a café to grab finger foods or a quick snack. Meals are not included in your registration fee.

Q: Will I need to leave the resort at all during the event?

A: All of the activities and sessions will be held at the resort. You will have free time. We encourage you to explore the surrounding area.

Q: What is the attire for the vow renewal ceremony?

A: This is a very special event. Your attire should reflect your personality and your marriage. There will be light d’oeuvres and cake immediately following the event.
